Amu and Tadase: Amu and Tadase's relationship got off on an OK start. Amu first statement to him was "I don't have any business wit you, so don't grab me like that.. "Little Prince". Tadase is always kind to Amu, no matter what. Even when Amu declines the offer to join the Guardians because of the cape. Amu later character change with Ran and confess to Tadase in front of the entire school. Even after all that effort, Tadase turns her down without hesitating. With the encounter with Ikuto, Tadase recues her and protects her from Ikuto. He wipes off a few dirt off her face and gives her his hankerchief. When Amu returned home, she started smelling his hankerchief, saying "Ahh... His hankerchief smells so good...". As the series go on, they later went on dates and their feelings for each was obvious. Tadase then confessed who he loved, Amulet Heart. This made Amu depressed because Amulet Heart is not exactly her.
Amu and Kukai: Amu once stated that their relationship is a Brother and sister relationship. She sees him as a 'older brother'. Kukai helps Amu on her Joker training and confronts her about her x-egg. (Diamond) Kukai was the first to find out about the x-egg. When Kukai visits the Guardians, he realized that Amu was depressed and help and ask her what was wrong. They talked and Kukai bought her ice cream. Kukai also carried her when she fainted after her first "Character Transformation" with Ran. This caused rumors to start again. In one episode, she daydreamed she became a bride, suddenly Tadase appeared, taking her hand. Ikuto, Kukai, and Kairi also appeared with flowers to give her. This confused Amu's feelings whether she really sees Kukai as an older brother.
Amu and Kairi: Amu does not see Kairi much as a man. She did not developed a crush on him until after he confessed to her. He left her blushing and panicking. Amu only sees him as a very serious guy about x-eggs and the Guardians. She made an atmosphere that Kairi wanted to join but he couldn't because of his sister and his missions. When Kairi was found out, Amu still believed him that he was still good at heart and knew that there was something wrong. During the fight between Amu and Kairi, Amu tells Kairi about the old times and how they are good friends. The words eventually reached Kairi's heart and made him realize.
Amu and Nadeshiko/Nagihiko: Amu joined the Guardians because of Nadeshiko. Nadeshiko would first always appear out of nowhere, scaring the heck out of Amu. She would jump and fall to the ground, scared. Nadeshiko and Amu later became best friends. Nadeshiko often help Amu with her problems and love life. Thought, right before 6th grade, Nadeshiko left to study aborad at Europe. Before she found out, however, she met Nagihiko who claimed to be Nadeshiko's twin brother. While they walked to the temple, Nagihiko held Amu's hand and Amu was confused and embrassed. Nagihiko lets go of her hand, saying "I forgot. Today's different." Amu did not understand this.
Amu and Rima: Their relationship got off a
rocky start. Rima sits next to Amu in class. When they first met, Amu tried to talk nicely to her but then was coldly turned down. Rima stated that smiling was foolish and that Amu is foolish. Amu was shocked. They were later picked to be hunting x-eggs partners. Though, Rima would alway finish off the job with her attack; Juggling Party. Destroying the x-egg. Amu was put down because of Rima. Rima was one of the reasons why Amu's Diamond Egg turned to an x-egg. Later on, Amu helps Rima and finds out about her problems with her parents. She also talked to Rima's parents and touched a nerve. She and Rima later became close friends.
Amu and Utau: Their relationship was obviously a rivalary relationship. Utau hated Amu because Ikuto treats her differently. Utau has feelings for Ikuto, so this is normal. Amu, on the other hand, admires Utau and says she is a really good singer and person. Both of their personalities are very similar. Both are them are very stubborn. In one episode, Utau asks Amu 'What's wrong?'. Amu looks at her and Utau ends up saying 'Not that I'm worried or anything, I'm just wondering.' This is a very obvious hint that their personalities are very similar. During the last battle, Amu helps Utau realizes her dream and her wish to be a singer and the reason why she became a singer. Utau still doesn't accepts Amu as Ikuto's partner but later accepts.
