Amu Hinamoriis a girl who goes to Seiyo Elementary. She is known as "Cool and Spicy" because of how she wears her uniform and her classmates mistaken her shyness as 'cool'. Her true self is actually a shy girl who wants to act more of her real character and wear pink more often. Once she saw Tadase, she had a crush on him. The Guardians asked her to join the Guardians but she automatically declined because of the cape. (It goes against her fashion sense). Nadeshiko, refusing to give up, gave her pictures of Tadase to make her join. They later became best friends. She met Ikuto right before Ran was born. Tadase Hotori is a boy and is the same age as Amu. He is the 'King' in the Guardians. The moment Amu saw Tadase, she had a crush on him. When he hears the word 'prince', or even close to it, he automatically character-change and changes into a 'King' talking about World Domination. Like many other people, he is actually shy talking in front of large crowds, so when he does talk, he character-change with Kiseki, his Guardian Character. He character-change with Kiseki a lot, for example, rejecting a girl because he couldn't do it himself. His heart first belonged to his dog, but later changed to Amulet Heart and then after that, his heart was captured to Amu. Tadase actually met Ikuto and Utau in his childhood but does not talk about it until the final battle against Utau.

Nadeshiko Fujisaki is a girl and is the same age as Amu. She is the 'Queen' in the Guardians. When Amu declines the offer to join the Guardians, she did a lot of things to get her to join the Guardians. Such as, giving her pictures of Tadase. After a while, they becomes best friends. Nadeshiko becomes supportive of her love life and gives her advice. Right before 6th grade, Nadeshiko goes abroad to study dancing in Europe. Nadeshiko is actually a boy name Nagihiko. She lived up as a girl because the boys in the Fujisaki family needs to know how to dance as a girl. After Kairi leaves the Guardians, Nagihiko comes back to take over the 'Jack' in the Guardians.

Kukai Soma is a very optimistic and hyper boy. He is very popular among the girls. He is one year older than Amu and is the 'Jack' in the Guardians. Kukai helps Amu with her problems and train her to be a good 'Joker'. He is the captain of the soccer team, but he is also very good at other sports. Kukai later graduates from elementary school and moves on to Middle School. Later on the series, he still visits the Guardians and help Amu out by talking to her with her problems. Kukai's Guardian Character is Daichi.

Yaya Yuiki is a very childish girl and is the 'Ace' in the Guardians. She is one year younger than Amu and likes sweets and ribbons. She takes ballet, but very clumsy. She has a younger brother named Tsubasa and doesn't like him because he gets her parents attention. She oftens act like a child, because of this, her Guardian Character, Pepe, was born. She wear 3 ribbons on her uniform. (2 on her hair and 1 on her cape)

Rima Mashiro is a girl who is the same age as Amu. She takes over the 'Queen' chair when Nadeshiko left. Even though she's the same age as Amu, she acts more superior and has horrible athetlic abilities. All of the boys in her class adores her because of her hair and her cuteness. Rima was almost kidnapped by an unknown person and that is why she moved to Seiyo Elementary. Her parents argue between each other because picking Rima up is against their work schedules. Rima loves gags and is often called the 'God of Comedy'. Her true self wants her to make people laugh. But because her parents said that was "foolish", she stopped. Rima and Amu later becomes very close friends. Her Guardian Character is Kusukusu.

Kairi Sanjo is a boy who is two years younger than Amu. He takes over the 'Jack' chair when Kukai left for middle school. He is the opposite of Kuaki. He is very quiet, organized, smart, and blunt. Because of these traits, Amu and Yaya calls him "class president". Kairi is actually a spy for Easter. He did this by pity because his sister, Yukari Sango, begged him to move to Seiyo Elementary to spy on the Guardians. Kairi does all of the housework at home because his sister is always busy with work and drinking. Later, he realizes that he did not want to spy on the Guardians and became close to the Guardians as best friends. He started to rebel against his sister and his "missions". He fought against Amu but realized that he was doing the wrong thing. After the fight, he returned home, and confessing to Amu. Saying he'll become back as a better man. He also told Tadase his feelings and saying they are rivals. Musashi is his Guardian Character, a samurai.

Ikuto Tsuikyomi is a high school student and was forced into Easter to find the Embryo. He often helps Amu, even though he works for Easter. Ikuto have the Dumpty Key which matches with Amu's Humpty Lock. His father was a violinist and so is he. The Dumpty Key belonged to his father but Tadase's father took it away from him. (Unknown reason) Whenever Utau tries to kiss Ikuto, he automatically moves away from her. He does not love his sister in that way as she does. Ikuto is actually naughty and likes teasing people. Utau Hoshina is a 14-year-old girl and is a singing idol. She is actually related to Ikuto. (Younger sister). Her real name is Utau Tsukiyomi. Utau always try to find the Embryo so she can release Ikuto from Easter, but she never finds it. Utau loves Ikuto as a man and becomes jealous of Amu because he treats her differently. Later on, she accepts Amu. She was the singer of a indie band called 'Black Diamond'. Later on, she dropped out of Easter with her manager and became a singer on her own. She character-transform with Dia while she sings. (Only for Black Diamond) Her two Guardian Characters are Iru and Eru.

Yuu Nikaidou is a member of Easter and became a teacher at Seiyo Elementary to spy on the Guardians. He is very clumsy and always late for class, but is kind-hearted. When he was young, he often build robots and his dream was to be an inventor (Robot Engineering). But his teacher quit and his parents were against his decision. His Guardian Character went into his egg again and he joined Easter after that. He kidnapped Amu's Guardian Characters and had only Su left. Su helped him realized his dream again. Amu rescues Su and purifies his egg. He quit Easter and became a real teacher at Seiyo Elementary.

Yukari Sanjo is Kairi's older sister. She joined Easter and dated Yuu Nikaidou before. They broke up for an unknown reason. She made up the idea of making massive x-eggs by making Utau sing with Dia. When people listens to the 'Black Diamond' CDs, their eggs are takened by force. Yukari and Utau later resign from Easter and left to make their own company and business, called Sanjo Productions.
