This is the second time Amu and Ikuto meet. In the manga, this happened in chapter 3. Amu was just about to character change with Su, but then Ikuto took the green egg. (Which is Su) Amu is shocked and calls him "The perverted cat-ear cosplaying guy!". Amu starts asking Ikuto how he is able to get to the 3rd floor even though he's human. He answers "Because I'm a cat". The green egg starts moving and saying "Amu! Help me!". Ikuto thinks it is the embryo and licks it, saying "Now, this is an embryo, isn't it ...?" Amu runs towards him, trying to take it back. She comes very close to him while trying to take the egg back. They fell to the floor with Ikuto on top. Amu blushes and ask "Why are you trying to steal my eggs? What is an embryo?". Before anything else happens, Nadeshiko comes to the rescue.
Nadeshiko character changes with Temari and fights against Ikuto. Ikuto accidentily steps on Amu's tart for Tadase and suddenly Su hatches. Su does her attack, saying "Chips Syrup Whipped Cream!" and cream was everywhere in the room. Amu falls to the floor and sees a beautiful girl, which is Utau. Utau thinks Amu is playing dumb about the Embryo. She and Ikuto walks away. Amu starts crying because the tart is ruined. Ikuto turns around and looks at Amu before he leaves.
While watching T.V. with Amu's sister, she sees that beautiful person again, Utau. She goes up to the balcony and starts drinking milk. Suddenly Ikuto appears right in front of her. The squirted out the milk. Amu is embrassed because she is trying to make her breast grow by drinking milk. She asks Ikuto what was he doing here. He answers "Nothing much." Amu remembers about the time when Ikuto and her were very close the last time they met. She blushes and says "Anyways, my egs weren't the embryos so..". Ikuto hands her a bag of something. Amu asks "What is this?". Yoru, Ikuto's Guardian Character says "It's for you." Amu's Character Guardians went in the bag and finds lots of snacks. Miki commented "It's like something you'd give to your grandmother...". Amu finally understands that Ikuto was trying to say sorry for messing up her tart. Amu says that the tart is totally different from what he was giving her. He says "It's not that different...". Yoru starts saying that it was time to go.
Right before he was about to leave, Amu says "Wa-Wait!". Ikuto stops and look at her. Amu starts blushing and asks "Why are you looking for the embryo? What is Ikuto's wish?". Ikuto paused for a bit and said "Alright. I'll tell just you. Let me see your ear." Amu starts to blush. Ikuto comes closer to Amu and then right next to her ear. Amu starts blushing very hard. Then, she squinted her eyes and Ikuto bites her ear. Amu becomes very surprised. "AGHHHH!!!" She backs away from Ikuto. Ikuto says "Yay. You were fooled." Amu gets mad at Ikuto and starts calling him names. Ikuto climbs up the balcony and says "That easter guy has moved.. If you're on that Child King's side and not ours, you're an enemy." Amu did not understand this.
Amu and her friends goes to Utau's concert until it ends because of an accident. Amu sees an X-egg outside near a park and was about to be attacked by it. Because her Guardian Characters were somewhere else, she cannot Character Transform. Right before it was about to attack her, Ikuto appears in his Character-Transformed form. Ikuto catches the x-egg. Amu blushes and ask "Did you come to save me?". Ikuto, emotionless as ever, says "Not really. I just came for this garbage." He clutches the x-egg and cracks it, the egg was broken. Amu is shocked. She goes to her knees and look at the shards of the eggs. She sees the owner of the x-egg. Ikuto explains about the x-eggs to Amua and starts to walk away. She becomes angry at Ikuto and tells him she hates him. She then sees his violin case with a key that looks similar to her Humpty Lock. Before she could ask about it, her friends found her.
Amu helps out with the ballerina who has fallen and could not perform. She transforms into Amulet Spade, without knowing that Ikuto was watching. He sees the lock and is shocked by it. Amu cleanses the x-egg. After talking to the mysterious man who created the x-egg, she and her friends watch Yaya perform in the ballerina dance. Yaya and Mai-Ten becomes friends. Ikuto, shocked by the lock, sitting on the tree. He asks himself "Humpty Lock... Why does she...?" while holding his own key.
Amu's eggs were stolen by Yuu Nikaidou. Amu follows Yoru to find her Character Eggs. She follows him through the cat route and falls. She falls and sees all the musicians and performers who perform on the streets for free. She then starts to hear a violin playing and started to follow its sound. She kept going farther in the street and finds Ikuto playing the violin. The song he was playing was a painful song. Ikuto notices her and Amu blushes. Ikuto asks what was she doing here. She answers "No. Nothing." She starts to remember what happened last time and when she said she hated him. She starts to think "Even though he's horrible.. How can he play such beautiful music..?". She then sees Ikuto's key. "Ah~ The key!". Amu points at it. Ikuto notices and pull it up and tells her it's called the Dumpty Key. "That Humpty Lock of yours make a pair with this key." Ikuto then come closer to Amu and takes out his hand to her chest. She starts to think dirty, but then he was only aiming for the lock.
Amu blushes as she looks at Ikuto's face, which was very close to hers. He puts his face very close to her as he examines her lock. Amu, still blushing, starts checking him out. (The long eyelashes and his shampoo) "It seems so small. Shall I put it in?", Ikuto says that in her ear. Amu blushes and Amu starts to shake. The key was not able to fit through the lock. He starts clinging the key to the lock and notices Amu. "Why are you getting all red, Kid?" he asks. Amu starts to blush harder and yells "I.. I'm not you idiot! Perverted old man!". Ikuto waves his hand and says "Later you perverted kid." Amu stops being mad at him and asks "...You're leaving? Will you finish that piece from before?" He tells her it's already over. He starts to walk away from her but Amu follows him. She asks him "Why do you play an instrument then?!". He stops and turn around and answers "Because I'm a kid too." He smiles at her. Amu blushes.
She starts to beg him to play the song again. Ikuto tells her he'll play if she sings. She starts to sing her school song and he starts to play his violin. Amu thinks "Ikuto.. I want to know more..". Before she could finish, there was a yell. She finds out Nikaidou is actually from Easter. He attacks her but Ikuto saves her and questions Nikaidou. Amu finally founds out that Ikuto is actually from Easter. Amu sees her and eggs and tries to get them but Ikuto holds her back. "Don't! You'll only get hurt!" She smacks his hand away.
Amu's eggs are still stolen by Nikadiou. The Guardians are fighting against Utau but then Ikuto appears. Utau's transformation melted off and starts to hug Ikuto. Amu becomes jealous of this. Tadase starts to fight Ikuto and make him transform. But Ikuto says he isn't going to transform for him. Right before Nikadiou was leaving, Amu yells out "Wait" and Ikuto kicks a certain spot. The case opened and then Amu was able to get two character eggs back. (Ran and Miki) Nikadiou grabs her by her necktie and tells her to come along for the final battle to get back Su. Ikuto and Utau also escapes as Nikadiou escapes.
The next day, Amu talks to Ran and Miki about what Nikadiou said. Ikuto intrupts their conversation by hitting her on the head with his hand. She turns and is surprise to see Ikuto. Ikuto's friends laugh about Ikuto hitting on little girls. Amu is shocked to see that he's wearing his uniform and that he's a student. Ikuto tells Amu where Nikadiou's hiding place is. Amu starts to wonder why he is telling her this. Ikuto comes from behind her and lift up her china nd they look at each other. He starts telling her about Nikadiou and what he is up to. He smiles at her and points at the direction of the house. The next moment, he disppears. While Amu fights against the robots, she was saved by her friends. Her friends tell her that it was Ikuto who told them Amu was here.
While Amu goes home, she starts thinking about the Humpty lock and Dumpty Key and then Ikuto. She thinks "But I'd really like to hear his violin one more time." Ikuto saves two ladies from being molested from two gangster guys. Though, he was beaten up. Amu finds him bleeding in an alley. She runs to him sees blood. "Annoying. Go away." Ikuto says. Amu still gets down and gets a napkin from her backpack. "So uncool. Lying around hurt. You're really like a stray cat." Amu says as she wipes away the blood on his face. Her hands were shaking. Ikuto notices it and says "Ouch!", this startled Amu and she starts to panic. Ikuto grabs her hand and says "I lied." He pulls her close and Amu blushes. Amu starts to get mad at him and calls him an idiot and punches him on his head. This caused him to fall down onto her lap and he says "I'm dead." Amu blushes and says "Hey.. You're heavy!". Ikuto's comeback was "I'm hurt." Amu finally stays still and starts to look through his hair and went near his ear. Ikuto wakes up saying "Don't touch anywhere erotic, perverted kid." He points at his ear and tells her his ears are his weak spot. He also says that it's her weakspot too. She blushes at this statements and takes his head and drops it on the ground. Amu starts complaining about his actions and then Ikuto says she isn't cute. Ikuto gets up and tell her "let's go. Your house is.. this way, right?" She blushes at him.
They continue walking through a cat route and he leads Amu to a park that is going to close down soon. Amu starts putting on her fake personality but then her Guardian Characters tell her nobody's watching. She then starts to go on rides. Ikuto watches her. After riding, Ikuto says "So nice-that kids are so silly.." Then Amu tells Ikuto to rid the tea cup ride with her. She starts laughing at him because it is uncool to him. Amu tells Ikuto about her outer character and that she puts it up at home. Ikuto tells her that she is strong. The ride ends, and Ikuto walks Amu home.
Right after fighting against Utau with Amulet Angel, Ikuto appears. He jumps off a tree. Utau blushes and asks if he saw everything. Ikuto answers he was just passing by. He walks past Utau and gives Amu ice cream because Utau forced Kukai and Amu to drop theirs. "I'm sorry." He says to Amu. Ikuto tells Utau to apologize but she refuses. She then pushes him to the ground and kisses him. Ikuto breaks off the kiss and Amu stands there shocked. Utau complained "But why... Why only Amu.. Ikuto was never this interested in girls up until now." Amu is surprised by this and looks at Ikuto. Ikuto avoids eye contact. Amu starts blushing and tell Utau that she isn't interested in Ikuto. Ikuto hugs her and tells her not to be cold, even though they went on a date. Utau becomes furious.
Amu is on her bed and thinks about what happened that day. She starts wondering why she must see Utau as an enemy and then she starts blushing. She remembers how Ikuto goes close to her and how he hugged her. She then becomes jealous of when Utau kisses Ikuto. "What's with that..." She hug her pillow and blushes furiously. She starts getting mad and her Guardian Characters had to calm her down. The next day, she had to do the sport festival and was too exhasted.
After Amu finds out Naghiko is going to be the New Jack, she goes home and takes a shower. When she gets on her bed, she notices something different. Ikuto is sleeping on her bed?! Amu sceams saying, "WHATTT?!" She thens ask herself why is Ikuto on her bed. Ikuto wakes up from her yelling and tells her to shut up. Amu demands Ikuto to answer and explain to her why he is on her bed. Yoru tells Amu what happened and it happens to be Yoru's fault. Amu squeezes Yoru for bringing Ikuto to her room. Her dad wakes up and goes up to check on Amu.
She gets scared and turns off the lights and climbed into the bed with Ikuto so it seemed as if it was his imagination. She gest on the bed with Ikuto very close and made her blush. Amu tried telling Ikuto to wake up, but he said that if she kept talking, her dad will come in again. Amu couldn't sleep a wink last night because of Ikuto so she is exhasted the next day.
Amu comes home after playing with her sister in the snow. She buys taiyaki for Ikuto and remembers that Ikuto hasn't eaten since last night. She gives it to him, blushing. Ikuto takes it, and stares at Amu.
He is happy (but doesn't show it) that Amu remembers that he said hel ike chocolate. Amu stares at Ikuto eating it and then then they starts getting to an awkward conversation about how a real pervert looks like. Ikuto whispers to Amu that a pervert is a person who watches somone sleeping and mewls at it. He says "Someone like you, Amu."
Amu gets mad and then made it obvious that she
was looking at Ikuto. Amu then tells Ikuto to leave, and then Ikuto starts leaving. Amu starts getting worried about where he's going. Amu gets sad that Ikuto doesn't have a place to stay, so she says he can stay with Amu for a while. Amu's father ruins the mood by saying "Who is that boy?! Is he your boyfriend?". Amu assumes that he's talking about Ikuto, but it turns out to be Tadase.
After Tadase confesses to her, Ikuto comes on to her bed repeating what Tadase said as his confession. Amu was surprised and Ikuto says that he was listening because it is hard not to. Amu gets Ikuto off the bed and tell him to sleep on the ground. Amu starts sleeping but was suddenly woken up by Ikuto, sleeping next to her. They start arguging a bit until Ikuto said Amu was so gentle with him yesterday. They start arguging again until Ikuto hugs her saying she's warm. After they talk about how old they are, Amu realizes that she doesn't know Ikuto much. They start talking about the violin and the Dumpty Key. They soon got to the topic of kids and then Ikuto hugs her saying "It's because I'm attached to kids.
Spoil me a little." Amu gets mad, and pushes him away, sighs, and let him hug her. Ikuto mentions that Tadase said he like her. Amu asks if Ikuto has anyone he liked, Ikuto answers "You." Amu doesn't believe Ikuto and then sees Ikuto's sad sorrowful face. Then Ikuto tells Amu to grow up faster.
Amu comes home after Tadase says Ikuto is a black cat who brings sorrow and sees Ikuto on her bed, reading manga. She tried to be nice and tend to his wounds, but Ikuto played with her and got close enough to her to hug her. She gets mad, and drags him to the bath. Ikuto sees the bath and says "Isn't it kinda cramped for two people to get in?". Amu gets mad, realizing that he's saying they're going to bathe together. Ikuto starts stripping and tells Amu not to peek. Amu waits for Ikuto and realizes she have to get ready for her date with Tadase. She asks Ikuto if he can stay in the bath a little longer so she can change.
Ikuto says he won't do anything that Amu really hate. Amu changes and sees that Ikuto is really facing the wall and smiles.
After Amu gets caught by her mother, she realizes that Ikuto is going to leave she feels a bit sad. Tadase comes and sees Ikuto and Ikuto tells him that he heard the whole confession. He mocked Tadase and made Amu mad so that she doesn't miss him and get involved with him.
